‘Abide in me’
There,
down the river,
is my little spot,
where I lie, and wonder,
of my purpose, and value,
in the eyes of my creator.
Because I am confused,
and neither do I hope,
to know,
His mind, and His thoughts,
for I am afraid, of change, and to
sacrifice what must be forgotten,
in order to run, achieve, and
soar…
In the midst of my sorrow and depression,
"O Lord" I cried,
"Grant me,
the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference."
Because I know,
though the journey is painful,
it is only through Him,
where my wings are trained,
my branches are prunned, my candle lights,
my eyes opened, my soul restored,
and my life renewed.
"I abide in you, my Lord, may you abide in me. Take my life, and make me whole."
